Zuguo Liu, MD, PhD

Dr. Zuguo Liu is the distinguished Changjiang Professor of Ophthalmology, the Director of the Eye Institute and Stem Cell Institute at Xiamen University, and the chairman of Key Laboratory of Fujian Province in Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences. Dr. Liu is a world authority in ocular surface disease and serves as council member of the Asia Cornea Society and is a founding member and President of the Asia Dry Eye Society. He serves as the standing committee of the Chinese Ophthalmology Society and Chinese Ophthalmologist Association, the head of Chinese ocular surface and dry eye branch, the vice chairman of Cornea Disease Advisory Board. He is the deputy Editor-in-Chief for the Chinese Journal of Ophthalmology and Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology, and his research projects have been supported by more than 50 grants leading to more than 400 papers. Dr. Liu graduated from Hengyang Medical College, received his Master’s and doctoral degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Science and postdoctoral training at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
